FC Week 4 Practices
10/28/25 - Took Lily and Poppy to the horse ring area of Schooley Mill. LL against each other in the grass went quite well as they ignored each other from the start. Lily had a few hissy fits, but got under control quickly. Heeling around the parking lot was disasterous for Lily as she was so distracted by smells and horse pies. Poppy did well though ignoring them. We had more success with Lily under the judges stand area heeling on the concrete. Then we practiced stands and downs on the mounting block.

ReplyDeleteGood effort. Go work Lily again in same smelly area. Work her first on LL, then on leash. Have her do Sits, Sit/Stay, Stands next to smelliest🐎🐴 areas. When she has a hissing fit, "Out!" her and make it count. If need be, do QT in same area. Work her against those enticing smells until she can say "No" and demonstrate self-control.
ReplyDeleteMake sense?
Photos too if possible. Love the mounting block!
