We each worked Lily on LL, then LL with distractions, then heeling. These videos show the progression with Jeanne starting LL and Janet repeating the process and ending with cool down. Lily had way fewer hissy fits and when she did, she stopped quicker.
Lily still has nose to ground a lot and twigs were her favorite thing this time. Geese were on the pond and flying overhead. The wind was whipping around. Her usual toys were the tunnel, and she grabbed the tennis ball once at the beginning, but chose not to grab the little stuffed rooster at the end. She checks in some, but not as much as we'd like. La la la la la... She keeps up closer with us most of the time.
When Janet approached Poppy during LL cool down, both Lily and Poppy got into play mode, so Janet immediately LL worked Lily against Poppy. We only got the result on video, but it only took a couple passes for Lily to ignore Poppy.
LL and heeling practices
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT!!! The lane bordered by Lily toy's are fabulous distractions. For the first time, I am seeing Lily take responsibility for her position and she IS giving check'ins. Bravo. At last. Janet, those long legs of yours are great for walking briskly, BUT your KISS is to high for Lily to see on the AS. BEND your knees and PUSH your KISS forward of her right eye.
ReplyDeleteIF Lily can work like this, with Rachel, she is ready for Week 2.
Well done, Team!
